Reactivity Training
Is your dog nervous, or prone to barking, lunging, or growling at other dogs or people? Do your walks feel overwhelming, or do you find yourself avoiding them altogether? Is your dog overly excited or frustrated to greet every dog or person they encounter?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, specialised reactivity training might be the solution you need!
Living with a reactive dog can feel stressful, isolating and unpredictable, but you are not alone. At Fran's Best Friend, we take an honest, welfare led and holistic approach; factoring in your dog's lifestyle, breed, age, and temperament to tailor training and behaviour modification, specific to you and your dog's needs.
Reactivity is not a single behaviour and rarely disappears overnight, particularly if your dog has a long history of reactivity. So, Instead of guaranteeing quick fixes and false promises, we focus on building skills, confidence, and realistic long term progress for both you and your dog.
Training involves;
* Implementing suitable management to initially reduce behaviour rehearsal
* Improving your dog's ability to cope around other dogs/people
* Reducing the intensity and frequency of reactions
* Teaching alternative behaviours
* Building you and your dog's confidence and decision making on walks
* Creating practical, real - life strategies
Overview
How training works
Step 1
Book your Discovery Call to ask questions and check suitability.
Discovery calls are free - 20 minutes.
Step 2
Arrange a date and time for an initial behaviour assessment. This is required prior to starting any programme and includes:
* In depth history and discussion of your dog's behaviour and lifestyle
* Risk assessment
* Identification of triggers, thresholds, and stress signals
* Immediate management and safety strategies
* Immediate implementation of foundation skills
* Honest guidance on what progress may realistically look like
The behaviour assessment costs £120 (90 -120 minutes).
Step 3
Start a structured training programme. Programmes are offered in weeks, not sessions. This is because reactivity takes time, repetition, and consistency.
You are investing in guidance, education, and tailored support
Ready to take the first step ?
