Reactivity Training

Is your dog nervous, or prone to barking, lunging, or growling at other dogs or people? Do your walks feel overwhelming, or do you find yourself avoiding them altogether? Is your dog overly excited or frustrated to greet every dog or person they encounter?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, a specialised reactivity programme might be the solution you need!

Living with a reactive dog can feel stressful, isolating and unpredictable, but You’re not alone and you’re not doing anything wrong..  At Fran's Best Friend we take a welfare led and holistic approach; factoring in your dog's lifestyle, breed, age, and temperament to tailor training and behaviour modification, specific to you and your dog's needs.

Reactivity isn’t a one‑size‑fits‑all issue, so training shouldn’t be either.

I work with you through structured programmes that combine:

1:1 personalised sessions.

Clear goals and step‑by‑step guidance.

Practical goals & homework tailored to you and your dog.

Ongoing support so you’re never left guessing.

The focus is on progress, not perfection; helping you and your dog feel safer, calmer, and more capable in the world.

This training is ideal if your dog:

Barks, lunges, growls, or shuts down around other dogs, people, bikes, or traffic.

Struggles on walks or in busy environments.

Becomes overwhelmed easily.

Needs support building confidence and coping skills.

Overview

How training works

Every reactivity programme begins with a Behaviour Assessment, fully included in the programme price.

This initial session allows me to:

Understand your dog’s history, triggers, and emotional needs.

Observe behaviour in context.

Identify the root causes of the reactivity.

Design a training plan tailored specifically to you and your dog.

Ready to take the first step ?

The first step is booking a free 20 minute Discovery Call to chat about your dog, your goals, and whether this approach is the right fit.

You don’t have to do this alone,  support is here.
