Reactivity Reboot Programme
Overview
Is your dog prone to barking, lunging, or growling at other dogs or people? Do your walks feel overwhelming, or do you find yourself avoiding them altogether? Is your dog overly excited to greet every dog or person they encounter? Are they unable to focus and follow instruction when around other dogs?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, this 6 week, fully guided group programme is for you !
Dog reactivity can be a challenging and isolating issue, often leaving owners feeling frustrated, upset, or even angry with their pets. This can strain the bond between you and your dog, sometimes leading to rehoming or surrendering them to kennels.
Reactive dogs are often misunderstood and labelled as aggressive, which is rarely the case. Often these dogs are fearful or frustrated, resulting in being extremely stressed and anxious on a daily basis.
It is therefore my passion to help as many reactive dogs as I can.
By enrolling in this 6 week group programme, you will be able to improve your dog’s behaviour, increase their confidence and yours, improve your relationship, and gradually expose them to their triggers; in a controlled, safe, and fully supported environment. Working within a group means you will also be able to connect with other reactive dog owners, who understand your struggles.
What to expect ?
Initially you will have a free 30 minute phone consultation, where I will take your dogs full history. You will be given some initial steps to implement prior to attending the first in person session. Throughout the programme you will
Learn how to meet your dog's biological needs
Learn why your dog reacts and ways to help manage and reduce it
Learn about body language, signs of stress & arousal
Build a 'tool kit' of ways to deal with real life scenarios
Rebuild your own confidence as well as your dogs
Be guided through structured & practical training in a small group, up to 4 dogs, to maintain safety and ensure individual attention
Work on foundation skills to build focus, engagement, and clear communication between handler and dog
Over the 6 weeks, your dog will gradually be exposed to the presence of other dogs, using a safe and controlled approach to set them up for success. We will work towards reducing the distance, increasing the duration of exposure, promote calmness and help your dog learn to make better choices. By using controlled gradual exposure, we can help your dog change how they feel and desensitise them to the presence of other dogs, reducing their stress, and yours!
You will also have access to a WhatsApp group for additional and continued support, homework, demo videos, and to share your wins.

*The progress your dog makes is dependent on your dog's learning capacity and abilities, environment, routine and how much time is spent implementing any training guidance provided.
* As the intensity of reactivity can vary from dog to dog, an initial 1:1 session prior to joining a group may be necessary. You will be advised of this during the phone consultation.
